Ways to write an offer that will beat your competition include having a strong amount of earnest money; submitting proof of earnest money with your offer, and having a solid down payment to show that you are a strong buyer. It is also important to have your prequalification letter from your lender and have your file as fully under-written as much as possible.
Inexperienced agents may suggest you waive your buyer due diligence to strengthen your offer. I disagree. By waiving the due diligence condition you are giving up your rights to know the full condition of the home. Working with your agent to find out the needs of the seller and writing an offer that meets those conditions is the best way to beat the competition and get your offer accepted. Many times your offer doesn’t need to be the highest purchase price to win if you can check all of the boxes for the seller.
