Utah has such a diverse collection of landscapes and wildlife habitats, so it’s no surprise that it has its share of ecological issues. Between drought concerns, emission pollution, and endangered animal and plant species, there are plenty of conservation concerns to occupy anyone’s mind. Luckily, the local communities in Utah, and the tourists who value us for the nature and views we offer, care deeply about preserving and protecting our beautiful state. Along with pollution reduction efforts, fire safety protocols, and river cleanup projects, there are also plenty of local artists and businesses who make individual efforts to raise awareness and use sustainable resources for their products. Supporting businesses like those is a great way to help stimulate your local economy and help take care of our little corner of the earth. To help make finding these businesses easier, we’ve put a whole group of eco-conscious vendors and artists together at Tracy Aviary for their Eco Arts Festival!
This special after-hours event is August 1st, and goes from 5:00-8:00pm and will offer you and your family a chance to discover new businesses, peruse art inspired by nature, walk around the bird enclosures, and learn more about how to be eco-friendly. Community partners from the area will include Friends of the Great Salt Lake, Clever Octopus, Bad Dog Arts, and more! Learn everything from how the Great Salt Lake is pivotal to our local ecosystems, to how to source and use art supplies that would otherwise end up in a landfill. There will also be plenty of opportunities to learn about community organizations and resources, with passionate people there to answer your questions.
So if you love Utah, art, and birds as much as the rest of us, and want to spend an awesome evening supporting your local community and artists, come see us at Tracy Aviary!
