There are a million different reasons to love fall in Utah; from the leaves changing colors to the cooler weather, fall is lovely all across the state. But perhaps one of the most exciting reasons to love this state in the fall is Snowbird Oktoberfest! That’s right–one of Utah’s largest and most alluring festivals is back again for the 50th year in a row. Thousands of people travel to Oktoberfest at Snowbird each year, and you don’t want to be the only one missing out! The festival runs from now until October 16th, every weekend from noon to 6pm. Admission is free and the whole family is invited to come join us. Whether you’re interested in cuisine, music, crafts, ambience, or beer–you’re sure to find it and more at Oktoberfest. Get the full foodie experience with authentic German dishes like schnitzel and bratwurst, or satisfy your BBQ cravings with Snowbird’s burgers and brisket. Either way, don’t forget dessert! The waffle tent has an array of items that will make your sweet tooth sing.
Live music inspired by traditional German music will be playing on two stages, and you might even get to see some dancers if you time it right. There’s also a Marktplatz right inside the entrance which hosts over 40 local vendors. Art, wood carvings, jewelry, pottery, and more will be for sale all festival long. Maybe you’ll get all your Christmas shopping done in one place this year!
Finally, the beer: you can’t have Oktoberfest without beer! This year the biergarten will be serving over 50 varieties of beer including traditional German brews, and beers from some of Utah’s own breweries. Don’t forget to purchase a commemorative beer stein or mug to add to your collection; it’ll also save you money on refills while at the festival.
There’s no better way to spend a weekend, so we hope to see you there! Prost!
