The Creative Industries Zone is a specially curated community in South Salt Lake that’s focused on supporting small creative businesses and stimulating the economy through promoting art. The Zone is home to artists, dancers, craftsmen, musicians, murals, studios, workshops, and more. They all work together to be a supportive and welcoming community and to make our little part of the world more beautiful. It’s a wonderful place to visit on any regular day, but this Saturday it’ll be even better because it’ll be hosting Craftoberfest!
Craftoberfest is a celebration of Salt Lake’s creative community and will be held in the heart of the Creative Zone on October 8th from 1-6pm. There will be a sampling of everything you could hope for from an artistic community, including crafts, art, live music, delicious food, local brews, and more! The Zone is home to four breweries and three distilleries and you’ll get to sample their wares, along with the food from food trucks and the food available to purchase from local restaurants.
While walking around the festival you’ll be able to enjoy each of the 35 murals, painted by local artists, that decorate the buildings in the Zone. You can also experience the art by more than just looking at it; you can participate in it! Craftoberfest is all about immersing yourself in the art so there will be interactive art projects, along with art to admire, and art to purchase from local artist’s booths. There will also be kegs and barrels from the local breweries and distilleries hand-painted by local artists up for auction.
It’s a one-of-a-kind art experience that you won’t find anywhere else, and it’s only for one day,
so mark your calendars and head over to the Creative Zone this weekend!
