October is winding down, but that means that pumpkins are full-grown and pumpkin patches are bursting with beautiful gourds. It’s the perfect time to walk the patches, take pictures, and enjoy the end of autumn. So if you’re looking for the perfect patch or festival to visit, look no further. Here are a few different pumpkin-based activities everyone in your family can enjoy.
If you enjoy competition and the chance to win cash prizes, then the Jack-O-Lantern Carving Contest is the perfect pumpkin activity for you! Contestants are welcome to paint, carve, sculpt, or bedazzle their entries, but lighted designs are definitely encouraged. Bring your pumpkin to the Brigham City arch in historic downtown on October 21st between 4:00 – 6:00 pm for judging. Each category will award $500 to a winner, so grab some pumpkins and get creative!
If you have children or family members who have autism or sensory needs then the Sensory Friendly Fall Festival in South Jordan might be a great activity for you! Hosted by Autism Solutions Academy, this festival is sensory friendly, wheelchair accessible, and free to the public. So if costume contests, food trucks, pumpkin walks, and more sound fun–mark your calendars for October 22, from 10:00am to 4:30pm at the Bastian Equestrian Park.
If you’re looking for something a bit more intense, then you should visit the Kuwahara’s Pumpkin Patch and Thriller Park! Located in Draper, this event is open everyday from now until October 30th, and has everything from a photo-op pumpkin wall, to zombie paintball, a haunted house, live DJ, nightly performances, and more! Get tickets and more info at www.kuwaharawholesale.com.
There are only a handful of days left in October, so don’t miss out on your chance to enjoy the season! Get outside while the weather is still lovely and the pumpkins are ripe!
