With the weather drastically cooling and winter coming closer and closer, you’re less likely to find farmers’ markets, yard sales, and other outdoor vendor markets happening. It’s sad to say goodbye to those community events for the year, but don’t get too depressed just yet! While produce and summer goods are out of season, shopping never is; that’s why The Gateway is hosting the Winter Urban Flea Market starting this Sunday, November 13th.
The flea market will be held every second Sunday of the month from 10 am to 4 pm, from now until April. Don’t worry about the weather since the market will happen rain, snow, or shine inside a new industrial warehouse-style space, right across from Olympic Fountain at The Gateway. Admission is only $3 per adult (kids 12 and under are free) and then the whole warehouse is your oyster.
If you’re looking for unique gifts, decor, or clothes, you’ll fit right in. Each vendor will have something vintage, antique, handcrafted, or upcycled for you to peruse and buy. No mass-produced items are allowed, so you’ll only find things that fit the vibe that make flea markets so fun. Speaking of vibes, there will also be a special musical guest: DJ Bad Brad Wheeler from KUAA RADIO! He’ll be spinning tunes all day so enjoy the serenade while you shop. One of the only things you won’t find at the flea market is food, but don’t worry–there are restaurants and places to eat around The Gateway.
So if you’re interested in vintage dinnerware, second-hand designer bags, retro clothes, kitschy decor, or handmade home goods, this is the place for you! Bring the family for a fun day together, or come by yourself as a treat–either way, we can’t wait to see you!
