With all the snow Utah has gotten lately, it might feel like spring is far off. If you’re anything like me, you’re probably longing for sunshine, blue skies, and green grass. Fortunately, while we wait for the weather to warm and the flowers to bloom, there are other ways you can brighten your day and bring some color into your life. For example: attending the March Art Stroll.
The art stroll is hosted by The Local Artists Collective who created their business and storefront to support local artisans and provide a year-round shopping spot for people who want handmade pieces, and who want to support small local businesses. The store features and supports over 50 different artists, as well as hosting monthly classes and yearly events.
Their storefront is located in The Junction in downtown Ogden, and the Art Stroll will be on Friday, March 3rd from 6 to 9 pm. The event will be held in-store and online, so if you want to support the artists, but can’t make it to Ogden, feel free to shop the online store or join one of the live streams to hear from the artists, watch demonstrations, and more!
The featured artist this month is Abbie Devers who is a painter. She’ll be demonstrating her hat painting technique during the show, as well as selling her hand-drawn paint kits, painted jackets and hats, and journals. Other local artists will be doing demonstrations as well, so be sure to check all of the store’s corners for painting and collage presentations, marbling instructions, sewing projects, and a children’s sculpture gallery too! The store will also be open late (until 10 pm) to allow everyone to enjoy the Art Stroll and then have time to shop afterward.
This event is free to attend. For more information visit localartisancollective.com/events/events/march-art-stroll/.
