It’s that time of year again! The time when the weather is nice, kids are out of school, everyone wants to be outdoors, and when Utah hosts its Arts Festival. That’s right, the festival is next weekend and there are so many musicians, performances, exhibits, and activities that you’ll need two more sets of eyes and ears to be able to experience it all.
The festival goes for three days, starting on June 23rd, at Liberty Square in downtown Salt Lake City. This year there will be over 170 artists, over 200 performances, and every type of food and drink you can dream of. To help you navigate the festival and make sure you don’t miss the artists and musicians you love, there is now a Utah Arts Festival app that has the full schedule, artist list, discounts, and more.
Along with the six stages for live musical performances, there will also be poetry readings, dancing, art demonstrations, film screenings, workshops, and other unique artistic displays and performances. There will also be plenty of children’s activities including films, craft tutorials, and writing workshops, and the Art Yard is open for the entire festival and has a vast array of art and craft projects your kids can dive into.
If you’re looking to pair all of the entertainment with an excellent snack or beverage, have no fear; there will be dozens of food trucks and drink stands on Food Row. Whether you’re craving Greek, Mexican, or BBQ, you’ll be able to find something delicious. There will also be several beer and wine tents around the festival if you want something to wash it all down.
There’s no better way to support your local artists and community, so head on over to Liberty Square and enjoy the most creative and entertaining weekend of the year! Tickets and more information can be found at uaf.org.
