By Heather Madsen,
One of the hallmarks of the Christmas season is the music. Whether you’re a lover of the classic hymns or a die-hard fan for Mariah Carey, music is integral to the way we experience and celebrate the holiday season. If you’re looking to boost your holiday cheer this week, try going to one of these incredible local concerts.
The Tabernacle Choir is one of the largest and perhaps most famous choirs in the country. Luckily for us their main stage is located in the heart of Salt Lake City in the Tabernacle at Temple Square. Their Christmas concert is one of their biggest events and it’s taking place on December 14th through 16th. Tickets for this concert do sell out very quickly, but don’t worry–you’re also welcome to attend their free rehearsals. Check their website for dates and times here: https://www.thetabernaclechoir.org/?lang=eng.
If you’re looking for a concert that’s a little more lively and better for kids, then you can’t go wrong with the Park City Holiday Spectacular and Sing-A-Long at the Egyptian Theatre! They have multiple shows running this month and the concert includes songs, dances, and skits. You might even get a chance to meet Santa Claus himself! Visit https://parkcityshows.com/index.php for tickets and more information. If you can’t make it to this show, be sure to check the event calendar; the Egyptian has holiday events running all month long.
The holiday season can get hectic, so if a romantic night out with your partner sounds inviting, then you won’t want to miss the live holiday music at the Moonbeam Lodge at Snowbird. Enjoy the sparkling snow and mountain setting while you listen to the performers and enjoy a hot cup of cocoa. This event will take place on December 16th and is free to attend.
